After a long time Velo Moda is back and more visible with Cicli.

Hi cycling friends around the world . My last blog post was in Chile.
In the meantime I am living in the Netherlands.
My girlfriend and I decided to start living in the Netherlands, because of new opportunities.
I had a great time in Chile and met allot of Chilean cyclists. It is amazing to see how cyclists
all around the world love this great way of transport/sport.
Cycling safety is unfortunately not every where the same. Also in Chile allot of cyclists are every year victim of accidents. This was for me the sign to start with Cicli and promote cycling safety.

Cyclists can create their own safety on different way's :

- Hi-vis clothes
- reflective elements
- use lights by riding at night and dark weather
- follow the traffic rules
- be aware
- try to make eye contact with car drivers
- wear always a good helmet

Being visible can safe your life and helps car drivers to see you from a distance.

In the Netherlands we have a big network of cycling paths and people get used to the amount of bicycles. But also here you need to considerate that people are watching on their mobile phone, eating their meal or talk with a passenger. Even when I wear this yellow clothes some drivers are seeing me at the latest moment at the roundabout.

#Vmadventure in Chile, a paradise for cyclists

Maybe you didn't her for a long time something of Velo Moda, that is right. There was allot of work to do with the bees and also the plants,flowers and trees needs allot of attention. But there was always time for a good trip on the mountain bike. 

I learned allot of my first flat tires I had, so I choosed to ride tubeless and the problem is solved. The terrain is dry and there are allot of cactus plants and trees with thorns. I'am very happy that the mountains are that close. That can be very efficient if I have less time I can choose allitle round and loose all my energy in one hour. The mountains can make training very hard. I live near Santiago where you can find mountains of 6000 m for trekking and 3000 m for cyclists. If you like to go on your road bicycle than the Cajon cel Maipo gives you good roads, the downhill and enduro bikers can go to normaly ski resorts. And if you love to go on vacation by bicycle, cycle up north to the dessert ore cycle south to glaciers. Okay you need to take some time because Chile has a length of 8000 km but that gives you a big diversity.

If you like freedom,adventure and nature come to Chile.

After my #VMADVENTURE to South Spain there was a long silence on the blog.

I never leave the  bicycle but I made less kilometers

After meeting Naomi Muñoz on my travel I decided to visit her in Chile. I fell in love with her and the Chilean life.
Here family introduced me to the beautiful nature life in Pirque near Santiago de Chile.
Naomi and I left Chile to visit Bolivia and Peru. In Bolivia we cycled the death road, a great experience. After leaving Peru I went back to the Netherlands and worked in the fruit picking.
I met Naomi in Montpelier again and we cycled with her study friends to Barcelona.
After going to Morocco and being in the Netherlands we decided to go back to Chile.
We are going to start working with the bees and brewing beer and creating more natural products.
Of course cycling is part of our life and we keep you updated of our experiences.
